To the Zoo!

I thought that a trip to the Zoo was as good a place as any to start off this blog....

Anyone who knows me has probably heard about our o/s travel plans and relocation to Brisbane. The trip that has been a long time coming and a long time talked-about. Due to various reasons it has been constantly postponed, altered, shortened, lengthened and twisted about. Finally we have booked our flights and the magic leaving date is set, 29th April - China, Mongolia and Borneo here we come!

In the meantime there is lots to do, finish up work (Tim is already done with work and off gallivanting in Tasmania for a couple of weeks), pack up the house, relocate Willy, move our stuff northwards to the great, slightly soggy, Brisvegas, finalise our backpacking gear and, most excitingly, meet my new niece who, all going to plan, should arrive in time to receive plenty of Aunty Chezzy and Uncle Tim cuddles before we head o/s.

With the realisation that very shortly Sydney will no longer be our home (goodbye slugs and rising damp, bumper to bumper traffic and smoggy skylines, stinky trains and robot office workers) I decided that it was imperative to fit in one more trip to the Zoo. On an absolutely perfect blue sky day, across the harbour on an historic Sydney Ferry, past the Opera house and the Harbour Bridge, to meet a couple of good Sydney friends, to Taronga Zoo to ooh and goo at all the animals. It was a fantastic day.

It all made me wonder if perhaps I would miss Sydney after all......
